On January 7, 2026, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued Announcement No. 57. This newly published law adjusts the certification process for (7) seven automotive parts that were previously under Self-Declaration Information Reporting System (SDoC).
Beginning January 1, 2027, the following (7) seven types of Automotive parts must obtain a CCC certification certificate and carry the CCC certification mark before they can be manufactured, sold, imported, or used in business activities:
- Safety Glass for automobiles
- Safety Belts for automobiles
- External Lighting and Light-Signaling Devices for motor vehicles
- Indirect Vision Devices for motor vehicles
- Seats and Head Restraints for motor vehicles
- Vehicle Traveling Data Recorders
- Retro-Reflective Markings for vehicle bodies
The self-declaration related to the above parts in the “Compulsory Certification Product Conformity Self-Declaration Information Reporting System” (commonly referred to as SDoC) will be uniformly cancelled.
Starting July 1, 2026, designated certification bodies will begin to accept CCC certification applications for the above (7) seven types of parts. For parts with valid self-declarations, the designated certification bodies shall actively adopt the results of self-declaration evaluations on the basis of ensuring certification quality and controllable risks, and issue CCC certification certificates accordingly. The System will no longer accept or generate self-declarations for related parts.
Companies shall complete the conversion to CCC certification certificates before December 31, 2026. They must also must proactively cancel the corresponding self-declarations directly. For parts that have already been manufactured during the validity period of the self-declaration and will no longer be produced, no conversion is required, and they may continue to be sold.
G&M can assist in converting existing SDoC into CCC certificates. We will review existing SDoC certificates, test reports and factory audit assessments to ensure that they are correct and current before submitting to designated certification bodies in China for conversion into CCC certificates before the above deadline.
