The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China has released the 2026 Edition of the “China RoHS Catalog.” This catalog is the official Compliance Management Catalog for Hazardous Substance Restriction in Electrical and Electronic Products. This updated catalog went into effect on May 28, 2026.
The number of products in the updated catalog contains thirty-three (33) categories, including Air Conditioner, Printers, Microcomputers and Server.
Key Points for Computer Server Manufacturers:
- Servers have been added to the China RoHS Catalog.
- Mandatory Compliance Deadline: August 1st, 2027
Servers must meet the hazardous substance restriction requirements starting August 1, 2027. - Restricted Substances- Substances Banned from Products
Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE), Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Diisobutyl Phthalate (DIBP), Butyl Benzyl Phthalate (BBP), and Bis(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP). - Compliance Pathway
There are two ways to meet the requirement. Client can choose RoHS SDoC through China Official System, or Voluntary Certification by third-party. - Local Representative: A Local Representative is required for certification.
