What is the eK Mark?

G&M Compliance Home Page
A new certification system overseen by private organizations has replaced the former government-supervised approval system in South Korea. The Electric Appliance Safety Control Act was amended in the year 2000 to enhance safety control for the manufacturer and to harmonize safety requirements to IEC standards and ISO/IEC guidelines. The government regulatory Agency for Technology and Standards (ATS) of the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) has the authority to designate certification bodies to issue the EK-mark. The Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), Korea Electric Testing Institute (KETI) and EMC Research Institute (ERI) have been designated by ATS to issue the EK-mark.

G & M Compliance, Inc. is proud to announce its affiliation with KETI (Korea Electric Testing Institute) to expedite eK & MIC certifications for South Korea as one of the FIRST laboratories in North America. As of now, it is mandated that manufacturers must have their products bear eK (Product Safety and EMC) or MIC (EMC and/or Telecom) marks for South Korean market. Now, we can provide you with more complete global testing services with South Korea Testing Service capability.

What's the process:
  • G&M Compliance can determine whether your products require the eK Mark.
  • Provide Implementing Regulations and testing procedures.
  • Provide a complete description of the product, list all components, include all diagrams, identify all materials, include all instruction manuals, plus other information as prescribed by eK Mark.
  • Provide a test sample.
