Almost any product to be imported to Russia requires GOST R Certification to assure compliance with existing safety, technical, and quality standards. In order to bring equipment across the border into the Russian federation, mandatory certification is required by Russian law. You will require a GOST Russia Certificate of Conformity, or GOST-R COC. Gosstandart of Russia (GOST-R) is the government organization charged with maintaining and enforcing this certification system. In line with the current European approach, Russian law offers options for conformity assessment covering mandatory certification, accreditation and self-declaration. Gosstandart has identified 14 areas of mandatory certification and 31 product categories.
